At this time of the year many people rely on snowblowers to clean off their driveways and walkways, but is a snowblower really necessary? Part of living “green” is learning to use or waste less energy. Now over the last two years we all know that gas prices have been going up and have been fluctuating a lot. Does it make sense to waste that money on something that is just going to use it right up? Grant it, it is only a few dollars to fill up such a small tank, but if you have a good back, why waste even those few dollars when you could do it for free. I know that many times the old snow shovel has gotten a lot of ridicule for all the hard work and effort you have to put into it to just clean off your drive and or walkway. But by shoveling the snow by hand you can not only help the environment and your pocketbook, but get some much needed exercise which is often neglected especially during the winter. Face it, until somebody invents a snowblower that needs no fuel and a better way to get exercise in the winter, your best bet is the old snow shovel. Remember going green means living green. |
